Golden Ochre

Hi Everyone,

This weeks blog is the first finished painting in series 4 of my ongoing flower portraits series.
They will all eventually be for sale once they’re all finished. I thought though it would be nice to share them here as they’re finished, rather than make everybody wait. πŸ™‚
I hope some of you enjoy this little painting.
Wishing you all an inspiring week filled with much creativity and beauty.

    1. Hi Christine,

Thank you so very much! πŸ™‚ I have to admit I’ve impressed myself with how well this flower has turned out. I’m looking forward to seeing the others come to life too. πŸ™‚
I hope they’ll be worth the wait for you. πŸ™‚

With lots of love to you and

  1. Hi Tikarma,

This is just beautiful! It is definately one of your best. I’m glad it went so well for you. The colours just work perfectly and give it a nice 3D effect. I especially love that blue that makes the whole flower jump out at you. And great sense of texture too!

Well done baby! I am very proud of you. Now, to reset that brain for the next one πŸ™‚

Forever yours in art and inspiration,

    1. Hi Jamie,

Thank you very much and as always for your support and encoragement. πŸ™‚

I’m really glad you like this flower and I agree it is one of my best works. πŸ™‚

Blue? Have I hit a spectrum that interferes with your colour blindness? Interesting. There’s no blue in this painting I’m afraid, but next will feature purple. πŸ™‚

      Thankyou so much again!
      Yours always in love.

  2. Well I am with Jamie – I love the blue in this picture.

It might not be what you see Tikarma, but it is definitely what I see.

    Fascinating really. πŸ™‚

I hope all is well with you

    1. Hi David,

Thankyou so much! I’m really glad you like the flower. πŸ™‚

I’ve had a look at a few screens and it appears most computers confuse the black and white shading to create a blue glow.
In the actual painting there’s no blue.
It is most fascinating and I’m not sure if I can fix it. πŸ™‚
      It is pretty though. πŸ™‚

I am struggling a lot, but taking one day at a time and just trying to do the best I can.

      I hope you are well?
It’s lovely to see you again. πŸ™‚

      1. Ah Tikarma,

There is no need to “fix it” – I love the painting as I see it and I am well used to knowing that what I see in the blue/red spectrum may not be what other people see.

I have been following your flower paintings even though I have not been much around in the cyber world and I am well impressed with all of them.

Your “I am struggling a lot, but taking one day at a time and just trying to do the best I can.” sums up pretty much where I am too.

August, as you know is always difficult for me and my emergence into Autumn has been hindered by some fairly significant dental work which is taking its own damn time in healing!!

But nonetheless one day at a time I am getting there. People tire me but I am getting out and about among them πŸ™‚

        Take good care of yourself

      2. Aww, thankyou David, πŸ™‚ I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the flowers overall. That means a lot. πŸ™‚
I understamd not being around much. Being online is quite a struggle for me too.

I suppose there is a slight sense of false advertising. I quite like the effect myself…hmmmm.

I’m sorry you’ve been going through so much pain with dental work.(((hugs))) you have my sympathies and best wishes that you’ll be healed soon (((healing hugs)))

I do empathise with where you are at, at the moment.
I’m going through a kind of nervous breakdown. A couple of hours is all I can take being on line or around people.
I’m doing my best to push through and stay in touch but I have to admit it hasn’t been easy.
Hopefully the spring weather will help me. πŸ™‚
I hope for you too that life looks a little brighter and feels a whole lot better soon.

  3. Oh, I missed a blog…Shame on me. LOL. I’ve been forgetting to check in here from time to time. I love your painting and loved where you went with this. *HUGS* I hope all is well in your world! πŸ™‚

    1. Hi DJ,

Ohhh there’s no need to apologise, I’ve been terrible with blogs lately myself. It happens and life must come first. πŸ™‚
Thank you for your kind comments about the painting. I’m really glad you liked it. πŸ™‚

I’m hanging in there and slowly limping towards being kind of caught up.
I hope you are having a good start to your week. πŸ™‚

      (((HUGS))) πŸ™‚
